Wellington Squash Competitions
Wellington & Somerset
Wellington Squash and Racketball clubs hold two main
competitions a year. The Western Counties/Thermac Plate competition as well as
the Bob Tuckwood team competition. However, we also hold a Christmas
competition which is a more friendly, social, one night experience. The
committee at the club are also working on bringing new types of competition to
add variety.
The Western Counties and Thermac Plate Competition
All players who enter this competition are given a handicap. You will initially be entered into a initial knockout draw. If you win your initial game, you will proceed into the next round of the Western Counties Competition. If you lose you will be entered into the Thermac Plate competition. Guaranteeing at least two competitive matches. Both competitions proceed in a knockout styles format with handicaps being kept for each player throughout. Running in parallel there is also a doubles, veteran’s over 45s, veteran’s over 55s and racketball competitions.
Bob Tuckwood Team Competition
This competition is our clubs team event. The highest ranked and experienced players captain teams. Their teams are randomly chosen with a group then knockout competition begins. This is a fun tournament, and it is a great way to get to know fellow Members.
